The Royals had their first softball game of the season and it went really well! Allie and the other players ALL hit the ball from the coach (me) the first inning. The tee didn't even come out except for the other team. We do need a little work on fielding skills, but otherwise - it all went well!
Allie and I went to the Roca Berry Farm this morning to pick strawberries. It was the first day it opened and they were really big this year - a bumper crop. We will now be making strawberry smoothies, bread, muffins, and shortcake!
Celia went to the Dentist for the first time this past week. She had lots of fun brushing the kangaroo's teeth! She had no cavities and never even complained! She was glad to get a new Pooh toothbrush and a toy.
Allie is done with swimming forever! Unless she decides to swim competitively (which I haven't been able to convince her yet).....she was definitely the best in her class. Celia will start when she turns 3 this summer.
Soccer season is over! After a very cold start, we ended on a beautiful day. The girls had a lot of fun and were excited to receive some cool trophies. Go Falcons!
Allie and I did the Mayor's Run in Lincoln this morning. We saw her friend Olivia there too! Allie's school had one of the highest percentages of kids running, so that was cool (45%). She did a good job too. She cut off about 90 seconds from her last run in the Fall.
Trees are blooming, temperatures are soaring, and kids are playing! Finally it's nice outside - 80s for the rest of the week - so we put up the bouncey house. Can't believe it still works with all the holes in it!
Celia was the first one up (a little before 7am), and needed a little help finding her basket. She finally woke Allie up around 8:15, and she found hers right away (inside the ottomon). Among the favorites - a Peter Rabbit chocolate bunny (her favorite book!) but she didn't like to eat it, just carry it around. And Allie is all excited about her "solid" chocolate rabbit as she was quick to point out..."not hollow, like Celia's" .
Allie and Celia went to the annual Easter Egg Hunt at our local Hy-Vee. They spread out TONS of candy and the kids pick it up and put it in their baskets. It's divided into age groups, so I stayed with Celia in the 0-2 year old group while Allie and a friend went with the bigger kids. IT was a beautiful morning for it!
The girls showed off their new bunny shirts today. A mom at school made these for them and they turned out really cute :-) And Easter is right around the corner......
